The Heroes of '45, a new book by Ron Mielech, has been released by Dorrance Publishing Co., Inc.

The Heroes of '45 by Ron Mielech is an enchanting tale of historical fiction; however, this could very easily be a story told about life in a small Kentucky town during the war. The action takes place in 1945, following thirteen-year-old Richard Townsend. During the war, Richard's father, C.F., continues his legal practice on the home front, while others of Richard's family and friends are serving their country at war. Richard is pleased that his father is safe but is disappointed that he has not served in the military.

Over the summer, Richard falls in love with Mona Hollis. Richard also develops an appreciation for the heroes on the home front, like his father, as he watches his father excel in court.

About the Author:
Ron Mielech received his AB in English from the Thomas More College, his MFA from Yale University in Playwriting and his PhD from Ohio State University in History of Theater and Dramatic Literature.

His play, THE DANCERS OF CANAAN, debuted at another iconic theater, the Kentucky Repertory Theater, best remembered as the Horse Cave Theater. The play was produced by the founder of the theater, Warren Hammach, under the direction of Pamela White.

Mielech is the former chairman of the English and drama departments at Thomas More College in Northern Kentucky.

The Heroes of '45 is a 344-page paperback with a retail price of $22.00. The ISBN is 978-1-4809-3267-8. It was published by Dorrance Publishing Co., Inc of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
