Ehsan Zaffar, an instructor with USC CREATE, USC PRICE SCI, and frequent speaker at Bedrosian Center, has been invited to join the Council on Foreign Relations as a term member. CFR is a nonpartisan think tank specializing in foreign policy and international affairs, a highly-selective organization with 4,900 members worldwide, including more than a dozen U.S. secretaries of state including Madeline Albright and Colin Powell, former U.S. presidents such as Bill Clinton and senior private sector figures. The organization is also the publisher of Foreign Affairs magazine.

Zaffar is an expert in the area of civil rights and national security and frequently speaks and writes about policies that affect trust, transparency and civil rights in non-profit, government and private enterprise. His book, Understanding Homeland Security: Foundations of Security Policy will be available this fall from Routledge Press.

This summer Zaffar will work with USC students as part of the Leadership, Education and Development (L.E.A.D) program, offering a service-based curriculum that incorporates leadership development, educational awareness, and civic engagement to promote social change. Look for Zaffar's participation in some upcoming podcast discussions which will focus on national security and civil rights.

We are pleased to congratulate Zaffar in this important membership. He joins others "unmatched in accomplishment and diversity in the field of international affairs."
