August 5, 2017 - WIAL Caribbean conducted its intensive Action Learning Coach Certification workshop in Barbados during August 2017. The workshop hosted by the Caribbean Centre for Development Administration (CARICAD), was led by WIAL Senior Action Learning Coach, Verieux Mourillon.

CARICAD aims to build efficient, effective and accountable public administration for sustainable development in the Caribbean and has dedicated much of its work towards helping its member states navigate change. Executive Director of CARICAD, Devon Rowe, enrolled his senior team in the workshop so that they could assess firsthand the potential of Action Learning as a tool for furthering CARICAD's work. CARICAD's interest was initially piqued when WIAL Caribbean gave an account of how Action Learning has been used to simultaneously create learning organisations, develop agile leaders, build strong teams and achieve breakthrough problem-solving.

Representatives of two other Caribbean Agencies were included among the participants of the workshop. In addition to the certification workshop, participants are expected to complete two Action Learning projects, a reflection paper and online blogs in order to fully meet requirements for certification as WIAL Action Learning Coaches.
