Mumbai Gets its Kabaad Mela this October, before the festive season

October 5, 2017 - In India, 3 millions truckloads of untreated garbage ends up in landfills. Every. Single. Day. How do you solve a problem this big? Let us introduce you to Kabaad Ka Jugaad - an environmental movement founded by Harshil Vora, that aims to redefine the way we perceive Waste. Their mission is to inspire, educate and engage people to innovatively upcycle waste for creating a sustainable environment and making a humongous difference to the waste disposal concern of our country.

You too can contribute to this Swacch Bharat Initiative by visiting India's 1st ever Upcycling Festival called The Kabaad Mela Mumbai 2017. It will exhibit top 40 products entered through their Upcycling Competition, exciting performances, crazy games, training workshops, beautiful art installations, interesting competitions, pop-up shops, engaging activities and many such exciting events for all ages and interests! Fashion competition- An exciting fashion upcycling competition that ends with a ramp walk in your creation.

Minute to win it- 60 seconds. 10 Games. 2 people. 1 loser.

Human bowling- It's not about how well you bowl, it's about how well you roll!

Rapid Upcycling- Waste, haste and a lot of paste that tests your creativity.

Live Upcycling Corner:

Your chance to redefine waste as you involve yourself in a hands-on experience of upcycling waste into whatever your imagination lets you. Use your creativity and create innovative products out of waste with the help of our volunteers. And yes, you can take home whatever you make. This is a great chance to practically educate yourself about upcycling.

Junk Arcade: (A few crazy and exciting games)

Footpool, Stress Chess, Air hockey, Foosball, Life-Sized Jenga and a lot more!

Jam With Junk:

Music is everywhere, in every object around you even in the waste that we discard. We've developed fantastic instruments from waste, especially a variety of drums! On 14th October, learn from Mr. Jigar Rajpopat, with over 100k YouTube subscribers to his Indian Dhol versions of your favourite tracks! Grab any one of them and he will have you rocking it in no time! Explore your talent with an upcycled instrument as your inner musician jams with everyone else!

Upcycled Fashion Shows, Band Performances, Street Plays and a lot more!

The best part? EVERYTHING at The Kabaad Mela Mumbai 2017 is set-up from waste! It will take place on 14th and 15th October from 1pm to 10pm at Phoenix Marketcity Kurla! Be there to find yourself in a whirlpool of activities, all giving you immense to learn and take back with you!
