22-year-old German Girl lights up New York City this Christmas

"Who says you can't have it all?" That's the attitude of Morea Perleberg-Davis, the 22-year-old who moved to America when she was 17 to follow her dreams and start a life with a young man she'd met while cruising in the Caribbean.

Morea opted to skip out on college going straight on to start her own business, marketing artwork and other items with her soon-to-be husband. "But," as she explains, "nothing that really caught my eye like I needed it to." Until finally, a few months ago, she found something that made her tick.

It's called the "Lounge Light" — a new and exclusive, color-changing combination of traditional candle and LED technology, that emits a soft glow of changing colors form deep within. An item that promises to bring some extra holiday cheer this season.

"It's a big country out there but I personally love the item. It really worked for me — they're quite romantic, and hip too." She goes on to say that she thought they'd make the perfect gift for the holidays in America, so she took on the challenge. "It's great for someone who has everything — the ultimate gift," as she puts it, "because there's nothing else like it …" "Except for lingerie," she laughs. "Remember that guys. That's a tip!"

At the present, our enthusiastic European has landed in the middle of Manhattan, working with different designers, restaurants and clubs in what she calls 'product placement.' "You see they're hard to distribute in stores as the lighting scheme is too bright, what with the fluorescent lights and all … so we decided to bring it to the Heart of the City. And in NYC, that's the restaurants, clubs, and bars …" This is good news for the clubs and bars because Morea and company are providing them here more or less at cost in exchange for the venues carrying some of their cards that direct people to their website and 800 number.

"I expect to have particular success here," she tells us. "My father, an artist and inventor, just patented a 4.5 volt battery that lasts 100 hours as opposed to the 10 hours that others generally last. So, practically, it works out well. It is getting to be and going to be really hot."

She even has taken to "the streets." "That's what I tell people. I grew up with open-air markets in Germany and it's a lot of fun. The guys are great and it's a great way to get exposure. But the coolest thing is that everyone who buys one goes off walking down the boulevard with them lit up in see-through bags, (by helping us promote, they get a discount.) So it is like hundreds of Chinese Lanterns strolling along the avenues. Real beautiful. A real attention getter too!"

Quickly becoming the Number One gift item in Germany this season, it is just now being introduced to the U.S. through various clubs, restaurants, boutiques, and floral shops or you can find them on the web at: www.loungelightusa.com. Order by phone at 1-866-Give2NY. Morea adds with a smile, "Mention my name and you'll get 10% off." "Morea not Maria. As in the Tahitian Island. Everyone gets that one wrong!" "And Happy Holidays!"
