"A History" of the People and Events at One of the Residential Hotels That Proliferate the Cities of America, a new book collected and edited by Frank M. Lick, has been released by Dorrance Publishing Co., Inc.

This book recounts the author's adventures during the time he owned a residential hotel. Through it all, the residents were a source of entertainment, fun, and laughter. The author hosted a variety of people – including a trained concert pianist, a Harvard graduate, a beauty contest winner, a priest, and numerous veterans. The tales range from sad to uplifting to downright unpredictable, but always with a lesson to be learned at the end. Each story is different from the others and holds its own indelible charm.

About the Author
Frank M. Lick was born the oldest of nine children in Utica, Michigan. He spent three years in the Marine Corps, owned and flew an aerobatic airplane, learned to read music, and play the piano after he was "60" years old and has been married fifty-five years, raising two step-children. He and his wife owned and operated gas stations, sold real estate, built houses and apartments, owned and operated a 200-acre citrus ranch, and, of course, ran their residential motel.

When Lick wasn't busy with the above or getting his daily orders from the kids or their mother, he liked to nap in his chair in front of the fireplace. Of course there were downs during all this-Lick and his family weren't immune to sadness and tears-but they did get this far… by hook or by crook!

"A History" of the People and Events at One of the Residential Hotels That Proliferate the Cities of America is a 630-page paperback with a retail price of $30.00. The ISBN is 978-1-4809-4564-7.
