TAMPA, Fla., Aug. 17, 2018 - Virdition, a virtual audition and competition networking platform for the entertainment industry, announces the second annual "Sing Your Praise" online singing competition. Christian music performers nationwide are invited to participate remotely for the chance to win a minimum grand prize of $10,000 and the opportunity to record a single with Grammy nominee and nine-time Dove Award winner Jaci Velasquez.In November 2017, singer/songwriter Mackinley Melgoza became the grand prize winner of the first annual Virdition "Sing Your Praise" competition. The Sacramento, California teenager outperformed more than 200 competitors to claim the coveted $10,000 cash award at the "Sing your Praise" banquet hosted in Nashville, Tennessee. Melgoza then traveled to Franklin, Tennessee to join Velasquez at the Mike Atkins Entertainment studio to record the duet "Awakening" with Velasquez.
This year's "Sing Your Praise" competition is open to Christian music artists in multiple genres including solo vocalists, bands, praise teams, rap artists, and choirs. Virdition's remote platform takes a no-pressure approach to competing by doing away with costly travel arrangements, long audition lines, and the stress associated with auditioning live for judges.
Virdition's multi-round online competition platform is entirely voter-based. Contestants campaign for votes from friends, family, fans and audiences through their social media sites. The aim is to engage viewers and drum up support in the form of votes. Contestants who receive the highest number of votes to win their state in the qualifying round of competition earn a minimum $500 in cash prizes and advance to the next round.
Early competition entries are currently being offered for a discounted entry fee of $29.99 and a free entry in a Best-in category on Jaci Velasquez's Facebook page. Official competition entry dates begin Sept. 1 through Oct. 31, 2018, at which time entry fees will be $39.99.
Active engagement with audiences is key to building a fan base; the larger the fan base, the better the chances for career-advancing opportunities. The "Sing Your Praise" competition also offers contestants additional opportunities to earn votes from judges, business sponsorships, friends, and family sponsorships.
The competition consists of a qualifying round and six subsequent bracket rounds. Results of the multi-round competition are entirely based on the number of votes each contestant receives. Contestants earning the highest number of votes in their state during the qualifying round will advance to the first bracket round. State winners receive a minimum $500 cash prize and advance to compete head-to-head against winners from other states.
With each round, contestants' votes renew to level the playing field.
Thirty-two contestants will advance to round two, 16 contestants will advance to round three, and eight contestants will make it to round four. There will be 14 wildcard contestants advancing to the first bracket round of 64 contestants. Wildcard winners are those who didn't win their state but had enough votes nationally to be a wildcard winner; they receive $250 and continue competing.
In addition to the main competition, "Sing Your Praise" contestants can enter to compete in the following "Best-in" categories:
Christian music industry professionals from top Christian record labels associated with Sony Music and Warner/Curb companies will also be scouting the "Sing Your Praise" competition for talent, providing entrants with opportunities to receive performance offers and recording contracts.
Virdition's "Sing Your Praise" competition provides artists with online tools to register, build a portfolio, gather votes, gain exposure on social media, get sponsors, and more. All competition performances are conducted remotely from the contestants' homes or studios via Virdition's dynamic online platform.

In addition to the main competition, participants may enter one or more Best-in categories. Contestants who are eliminated from the main competition can still continue competing in their "Best-in" category competitions and remain eligible to win cash prizes in each category entered.
Entry fees for the main category, the state, and wildcard competition are $39.99. Entry fees are $20 for each individual Best-in category entered. Entry fees help cover competition costs and prevent submission of frivolous entries from people who are not serious artists, or entries that do not meet contest criteria.
