December 9 (Lincoln, NE)——-Who do you think is the greatest theologian of all time? A new interactive poll established by TheologicalStudies.org (www.TheologicalStudies.org) gives theology buffs the opportunity to offer their opinions.

"We thought it would be fun to give people an opportunity to voice their opinions on whom they think is the greatest theologian of all time,' says Dr. Michael Vlach, Founder of TheologicalStudies.org. "We'll post the final results on January 10, 2005.'

According to Vlach, viewers have eight selections to choose from as to who is the greatest theologian. The choices include Augustine, Thomas Aquinas, Martin Luther, John Calvin, Jonathan Edwards, Friedrich Schleiermacher, Karl Barth, and "other.'

"There's some subjectivity when it comes to who's the greatest,' declares Vlach. "Is it the person with whom you agree the most? Is it the person who had the biggest impact on both Catholics and Protestants? Or is it the person who has had the biggest impact recently? There are just so many factors.'

According to Vlach the TheologicalStudies.org homepage features an article called "The 5 Most Important Theologians in History.' "We weigh in on who we believe are the five most important theologians in church history, but we list them according to chronological order. We don't say who the greatest is.'

Vlach, who has a Ph.D. in Systematic Theology from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, started TheologicalStudies.org in 2002. The cutting-edge website is devoted to offering news and original articles related to Christian theology. TheologicalStudies.org also has a free newsletter that goes out to thousands of subscribers on a monthly basis.
