The College Democrats of New York,
the largest College Democrats State Federation in the country, today announced that the University at Buffalo, State University of New York, will serve as the site of their ’06 Statewide Convention, to take place on the weekend of April 7th-9th. With this decision, the three largest New York Democratic organizations – CDNY, NY State Democratic Committee, and NY State Young Democrats – have all officially coalesced around the city of Buffalo as the spot for their respective statewide conventions. Confirmed speakers for the event include NY Attorney General and gubernatorial candidate Eliot Spitzer, to address New York College Democrats on the 8th.

"Democrats throughout New York are united as never before,” said Ethan Porter of Bard College, President of CDNY of the selection of Buffalo by all three major New York Democratic organizations. "Eliot Spitzer's presence will electrify College Democrats. He's a hero to many of us." Steve Grossman of Cornell University, Vice President of Upstate New York for CDNY, concurred: “It’s great to see the convention at the University at Buffalo. There is no reason, with a strong state federation, that the College Democrats of New York can’t be a deciding force in the 2006 elections. We have a lot of great plans and it should be fun for everyone.”

College Democrats of New York is the largest state organization within College Democrats of America, with affiliated chapters at over 120 colleges.
