NBC's "The Biggest Loser: Special Edition" introduced the world to the tenacity and charms of winner Kimmi Dove who, together with her fiance Bruce Lebowsky, changed their lives forever. Loosing 60 pounds in a painful and tearful process of healthy eating, determined workouts and with the support of her loving (and 94 lb-losing) fiance, Kimmi realized her goal of fitting into her magical dream wedding dress had come true. Just weeks after her dream wedding to Bruce on national television, Kimmi will help make other women’s dreams come true by parting with her gown and donating it to the Making Memories Foundation for sale on March 4 & 5 at the Brides Against Breast Cancer event.

Kimmi will help kick off the event on Friday, March 3rd at 3pm by officially handing over her wedding dress to Making Memories Founder, Fan Hansen. Select gowns will be featured by models during the kick-off. Gowns will be on sale Saturday and Sunday March 4 & 5 at the waterfront Marina Del Rey Hotel, in their largest ballroom, located at 13534 Bali Way, Marina Del Rey California. Doors will be open from 10 am to 6 pm Saturday and from 10 am to 4 pm on Sunday. Making Memories has received over 2,000 wedding gowns for this event, including several hundred new dresses recently donated by local bridal shops like Palos Verdes Bridal.

With thousands of dresses arranged on racks by size, the ballroom will host hundreds of brides from the Greater Los Angeles area. "There is truly a gown for everyone in this collection," commented LA Chairperson, Suzanne Hornwood Appel. "With over 40 racks of dresses from size 2 to 26, women can find their dream dresses for weddings in formal ballrooms or on the beach."

Making Memories (www.makingmemories.org) is a non-profit organization founded for the express purpose of granting memory-making events and last wishes to women and men who suffer from metastatic breast cancer. Wishes granted focus on making a difference in the lives of those suffering from this devastating disease, and to help put the realities of this terminal illness aside, for just a few days, while providing the opportunity for a family to spend quality time together. We are actively interested in receiving wish requests.

Making Memories was co-founded in 1998 by the mother and daughter team of Fran Hansen and Anna Nelson. Their story has received national coverage from Oprah, MSNBC, Redbook, Martha Stewart Living, Newsweek, Woman’s Day, and Shape magazine. They were named 2005 Trendsetters of the Year by Modern Bride Magazine and they were honoured as “Women Who Make a Difference” in a recent issue of Family Circle.
