San Francisco Bay Hotel Collection Presents Holiday Donations to Local Non-Profits
March 03, 2006 (PRLEAP.COM) Travel NewsSAN FRANCISCO - For the second year running, the San Francisco Bay Hotel Collection has presented local non-profits with thousands of dollars on behalf of the Collection’s clients.
In lieu of traditional, logo-emblazoned customer gifts given around the holidays, the four hotels of the San Francisco Bay Hotel Collection – the Crowne Plaza Union Square, Holiday Inn Fisherman’s Wharf, Holiday Inn Express Fisherman’s Wharf and Holiday Inn Civic Center – chose instead to concentrate their funds on three admirable non-profit organizations in San Francisco.
Thousand-dollar checks were presented to the San Francisco chapters of the Make a Wish Foundation, Meals on Wheels and Habitat for Humanity. Selected not only for their inspiring work, the three organizations also display incredible financial efficiency, placing at least 85 percent of donations directly into the hands of those they serve.
“We want to actively participate in the community, so we’ve decided to use the money budgeted for client gifts to assist organizations during the holidays,” says Dayna Zeitlin, Area Director of Sales and Marketing for the Hotel Collection. “This is the second year we’ve made the donations, and our clients have been thrilled to be a part of the contribution.”
In addition to the monetary donations, the San Francisco Bay Hotel Collection is committed to volunteer efforts with the organizations.
“Over the past few years, we have volunteered quarterly with Meals on Wheels of San Francisco,” Zeitlin says. “Members of our sales, marketing and revenue departments visit the Dorwin Jones Senior Center in the city to serve lunch and chat with the seniors who come in for lunch. We have a fantastic time, and the office buzzes about the experience for days after.”
To continue the buzz, Zeitlin plans on expanding the volunteer efforts to include construction days for Habitat for Humanity and hosting events for Make a Wish Foundation. “Our office lights up when we come back from volunteering,” she says. “Helping others is a fantastic morale boost.”
