TAMPA, FL – The $50,000 Soduku Champions Tournament presented by Challenge Me, LLC is scheduled to begin May 6-7 in St. Louis. The tournament is the first national face-to-face Sudoku competition and the largest Sudoku tournament to date.

Participants from all over the United States will compete in 32 regional tournaments to become the champion of their region. The Regional Champions will then compete to become the 2006 Sudoku Champions winner in a National Final to be held in Las Vegas in January 2007. The National Champion will earn the $50,000 grand prize.

Referred to as the “Rubik’s Cube” of its generation, the craze of this puzzle game is sweeping the nation and showing no signs of slowing down.

Newspapers have picked up on the frenzy and offer it daily to their subscribers. There are over 40 books flying off the shelves that offer puzzles and strategies to success. An electronic handheld was a top seller during the holiday season. “Sudoku” was the 7th most searched item on the internet in 2005.

“Each and every Sudoku puzzle is different and challenges the player to a test of logic and problem solving,” says David Tucker, president of Challenge Me, LLC, the company organizing the event. “Everywhere I go…on planes, buses, in waiting rooms…people are playing Sudoku. We’re looking to see how well they play, how fast they play.”

The tournament will appeal to all levels of Sudoku players and will primarily feature medium- level puzzles with the main emphasis on speed.

For your opportunity to compete in this tournament, you can register at www.sudokuchampions.com. Registration is limited to the first 2,000 entrants in each city and there is a $29.99 registration fee to compete in the tournament.

Due to the overwhelming success of Sudoku and the number of participants expected to register for the tournament, Challenge Me, LLC is seeking additional regional and national sponsorship for the event. “This is a great opportunity for any organization to reach tens of thousands of consumers at a local and national level as they compete for the title of the $50,000 Sudoku Champions Tournament,” says Tucker. Information on becoming a sponsor can also be found at the website or by emailing sponsorinfo@sudokuchampions.com.
