C.O.U.M.B.A. Foundation Hosts ALI FARKA TRIBUTE IN WASHINGTON DC

DC-based C.O.U.M.B.A. (Conscientious Organizations Using Music to Bring Awareness) Foundation
will be hosting a tribute concert in the memory of Ali Farka Toure, the legendary blues musician, who passed away on March 7 2006.

The organization which aims at using music to raise awareness for important causes through the promotion of African music, culture and art, will be having the event on March 20 at 8pm at DC hot spot, Busboys and Poets.
Malian artist Cheick Hamala Diabate and his Ensemble, along with special guests musicians will be performing Mr. Toure's music and a video of the deceased artist in concert will be shown to the audience.

"Ali Farka Toure is a legend who's legacy everyone needs to acknowledge and celebrate. I am honored to be able to bring people together as a tribute to his life, music, and legacy", said Coumba Makalou, the Executive Director of C.O.U.M.B.A. Foundation, INC.
