The Applied Knowledge Group, Inc. (AKG) (www.akgroup.com) was recognized by Microsoft Corporation in a recently published case study discussing the adoption and use of SharePoint technology by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The FAA’s extraordinarily successful implementation of the SharePoint technology, the Knowledge Services Network (KSN), is based on knowledge management principles and collaborative technology adoption best practices. AKG provides services to support KSN, including technical integration, training and adoption.

The new Microsoft case study (http://go.microsoft.com/?linkid=4381063) details the use of Windows SharePoint Services by the Aircraft Evaluation Groups (AEG) to accelerate airworthiness reviews and streamline external industry collaboration on aircraft maintenance and certification for the Boeing 777 aircraft.

Andy Campbell, President of AKG said “We at AKG are extremely proud of our role in KSN. It gives testimony to the fact that technology alone does not automatically guarantee results. Appropriately crafting the adoption strategy as a cornerstone of collaborative technology implementation is critical.” Campbell also added “Ron Simmons (principal developer of KSN) understands the role of people, process and learning along with technology and it shows in the growth and development of KSN.”
