For Immediate Release Veteran Television Producer Launches Weekly Podcast Series

March 20, 2006 (PRLEAP.COM) Entertainment News
Legendary television producer Larry Hertzog, creator of the cult series Nowhere Man and writer/producer of numerous shows including 24, La Femme Nikita and many more, today announced the launch of his new podcast series Drinks with Larry and Lauren on iTunes. An outgrowth of a promotional podcasting effort in support of the 10th anniversary DVD release of UPN series Nowhere Man, the program teams Hertzog with his friend and former writing assistant Lauren Proctor as they visit LA dive bars and strike up unexpected conversations with regular patrons and guests.

The official site for the podcast describes the show in the following way:

LIVE ( when it was recorded ) from the finest saloons in Hollywood, the “deep deep” San Fernando Valley, and parts surrounding — long-time TV producer / writer Larry Hertzog*, long-time barfly Lauren Proctor** and their guests legitimize drinking too early on Monday evenings by parsing the bizarre inner-workings of every-day life. Think of it as a boozy sociology course, uncensored, and with appetizers. If you’ve ever wondered why hookers compliment your sexual prowess, even if you don’t pay them; why men are more romantic than women; why good sex means never saying I love you; why cross dressers are more normal than you; why Steven Spielberg is a stone-cold fox; and why ending friendships leads to prop arm casts, then we apologize, but you may be “one of us.”

Mr. Hertzog revealed that he and Ms. Proctor are planning a cross country trip in late summer to visit bars across America and get a read on some of the "real issues" that ordinary Americans care about.

The podcasting duo are currently meeting with local indie radio stations to discuss live broadcasts in select markets.
