A NEW KING AND NEW KNIGHTS JOIN MONTY PYTHONS SPAMALOT'S ROUND TABLE ON BROADWAY

The producers of MONTY PYTHON'S SPAMALOT today announced the imminent arrival of a new king and two new knights. Harry Groener, Martin Moran and Steve Kazee will join the company as King Arthur, Sir Robin and Sir Lancelot, respectively. The remarkable success story of MONTY PYTHON'S SPAMALOT continues as the smash hit musical celebrates its first anniversary on Broadway. The new musical, "lovingly ripped off" from the film, "Monty Python and the Holy Grail," opened on March 17, 2005 to critical and popular acclaim, and soon became one of Broadway's toughest tickets. Winner of the Tony Award for Best Musical, SPAMALOT, the National Tour just sold-out its opening engagement at Boston's Colonial Theatre, launching a multi-year journey across the country. This October, SPAMALOT will open at the Palace Theatre in London's West End, and next March, a further production will open at Wynn Las Vegas. Directed by Mike Nichols, who won his eighth Tony for directing SPAMALOT, the hit musical features a book and lyrics by Eric Idle, music by John Du Prez and Eric Idle, based on the screenplay of Monty Python and the Holy Grail by Monty Python creators Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones and Michael Palin. SPAMALOT is choreographed by Casey Nicholaw. Harry Groener's Broadway credits include Crazy For You, Harrigan 'n Hart, Sunday in the Park with George and Cats. He has received three Tony Award nominations. His extensive film and TV credits include "Monk," "Huff," "West Wing," Road to Perdition and About Schmidt. Martin Moran has appeared on Broadway in Cabaret, Titanic, Bells Are Ringing, How to Succeed., Big River and Oliver. He received two Drama Desk Award nominations for his one-man show The Tricky Part, which was also recently published by Random House. Steve Kazee made his Broadway debut in Edward Albee's Seascape, and appeared in As You Like It at The Delacorte Theatre. Telling the legendary tale of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table, and their quest for the Holy Grail, SPAMALOT features a chorus line of dancing divas and handsome knights, flatulent Frenchmen, killer rabbits and one legless knight. The Grammy Award-winning Original Broadway cast recording of SPAMALOT is currently available on Decca Broadway. The Millennium Broadway Hotel is the official hotel of SPAMALOT.
