GT Web, a small internet company based in Vancouver, Canada, has created the web's newest niche. The Canadian Online Poker Championship Series or COPCS as it is often called is an online community for poker enthusiasts to meet, interact and compete against each other in a series of Texas Hold'em tournaments.

The premise is simple: poker is at its most enjoyable when one is playingrnagainst people he or she knows. Daniel Sitar, Chairman and CEO of GT Web believes "players will be able to make friends quickly through thernforum on the website, making the bi-weekly poker tournaments heldrnthrough PokerRoom.com much more enjoyable than a traditional online poker game."

Although the website was just launched, GT Web hopes it will revolutionize internet poker, at least in Canada. Once Canadians give COPCS a try, they will realize how much fun it is to compete against each other for cash prizes. In addition, COPCS's yearly Grand Championship Tournament will crown a Canadian Online Poker Player of the Year.

Down the road, COPCSrnhopes to be able to give its yearly champion a World Series of Poker invitation, a prize sought after by all poker enthusiasts. Until that occurs, Canadians are encouraged to sign up at COPCS and enjoy competing against their countrymen in a relaxed online environment.
