“We literally could not do this event without the support shown by New World School of the Arts,” said event director and NWSA alumni Susie Kreitman-Taylor. “It was in the halls of New World that Daria first discovered that she was losing her vision. It is only appropriate that they continue to assist in raising awareness and funding for research of retinal degenerative diseases.”

Involved in the Hope For Vision, Live! include New World School of the Arts alums in every level of the production. Participants include: Isaac Lidsky, Daria Lidsky Zawadzki, Susie Kreitman-Taylor, Erich Wasserman, Marcia Kreitman, Dawn Camner, Sofia Rossato, Micaela Rossato, and Jorge Mejia. Other alumni supporters include: Mandy Greenfield, France-Luce Benson, Mark Ostrick, Seth Unger and David Schulner. There are many other alumni supporters as well, and Hope For Vision recognizes the support of New World itself. These alumni were all student leaders while at New World and have proven successful by all measures since. They have pooled their talents on behalf of millions of individuals affected by retinal degenerative disorders. Among those affected are NWSA's own family: Isaac and Daria Lidsky.

Erich Wasserman and Isaac Lidsky founded Hope For Vision, an organization dedicated to raising awareness and crucial funds to research cures for retinal degenerative diseases. The organization has representation in Boston, Washington, New York, and Miami. This event is a unique opportunity to allow them to use the talents they honed while students at NWSA to give back to the community.

NWSA is a "proud sponsor" of this event and lends its support by helping its own family spread the word about the wonderful work of its growing and ever-stronger alumni network.

Hope for Vision, Live! “Illegally Blind” will feature live performances by some of South Florida’s most talented entertainers as they unite to raise money and awareness, and to change the way you see things. Slated to perform at the show are The Green Room, DJ Le Spam, the Laughing Gas Improv, THEY improv, Peter Fogel, Steve Gladstone, Crescendo and many more. In addition, MadTV’s Keegan Michael Key and the Miami Heat Dancers will perform while the show will be enjoyed by even the visually impaired through audio description provided by VSA Arts of Florida.
