Missouri Governor Matt Blunt and Trade Envoys From More Than 20 Nations Arriving in St. Louis for Global Business Summit

St. Louis, Missouri, USA … Missouri Governor Matt Blunt and trade envoys from more than 20 nations who want to do business with Missouri companies will join global executives at an international business summit hosted in St. Louis on May 11, 2006.

This major conference, which celebrates World Trade Day in St. Louis, is called "The World’s Super Economies – Doing Business in China, India & the European Union.” The event is open to businesses, non-profit organizations and the public.

“We are honored that Missouri Governor Matt Blunt will address foreign trade representatives and business leaders at this milestone trade summit,” said Stewart Dahlberg, Chairman of The St. Louis Regional International Partnership, which is organizing the conference.

“In addition to the honorable Governor Blunt, keynote presenters will include economic and diplomatic consulates from nations across Europe, as well as India and China. Also, we are proud to welcome informative remarks by St. Louis County Executive Charlie A. Dooley and senior level business executives from Missouri and around the world.

“These and other global business leaders will make this conference extremely valuable for all who attend. The World Trade Day International Business Summit is a cost-efficient way to gain access to international markets and help companies increase sales opportunities,” Dahlberg added.

Governor Blunt is scheduled to address the conference at 12:30 p.m. More than 20 foreign trade representatives will be available for individual meetings and presentations from 9:00 a.m-4:00 p.m. In addition, government-sponsored incentives and cost-efficient options for joining international trade missions will be presented. The day-long trade conference will occur at the Sheraton St. Louis City Centre Hotel at 400 South 14th Street in downtown St. Louis. The conference opens with a Continental breakfast and registration at 7:30 a.m.

Registration is $95 per person for access to all presentations, keynote speeches, breakfast, private meetings with foreign trade envoys and the awards luncheon where The Global Excellence Award will be presented.

For an optional registration fee of $150, registrants may attend the May 11 conference and also enjoy a Mississippi riverboat dinner cruise and cocktail reception with foreign trade representatives on Wednesday, May 10, from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Transportation to and from the St. Louis Sheraton City Centre Hotel and the paddlewheel-style riverboat will be provided.
