ACAPULCO, México (Apr. 05, 2006)– México’s newest all-inclusive resort chain, Tesoro Resorts, announces $10 million renovations that will introduce revamped public areas to its Los Cabos and Manzanillo locations.

Tesoro Resorts launched earlier this year with the rebranding of three former Costa Real Pacific Coast properties in Los Cabos, Manzanillo and Ixtapa under a new brand which emphasizes extraordinary value, striking surroundings and ‘treasured moments’ with family, friends and loved ones.

Construction breaks ground at Tesoro Los Cabos immediately following Easter holidays with “room rehab” to introduce tropical minimalist décor to the hotel’s 286 rooms and suites. A new rooftop restaurant “Mi Cielo” will have diners feasting beneath a soaring thatched palm roof with picturesque views of the Cabo San Lucas marina and Baja sunset over the peninsula.

In 2007, Tesoro Los Cabos will introduce two innovative lounge concepts under the rooftop of the expansive blue Baja heavens that will take socializing to new heights. The SkyBeach lounge pool will be surrounded by pillow-stuffed day beds atop soft Cabo sand for a real toes-in-the-sand relaxation area overlooking the bustling action of the marina.

The SkyLounge rooftop bar will feature the hottest cocktails in Cabo served under the cool shade of a palapa roof with plenty of sofas and oversized pillows to set the laidback atmosphere.

Further south along México’s Pacific coastline, the 331-room Tesoro Manzanillo announces plans to create a new outdoor activities and kids pool area. The current freeform pool overlooking the magnificent La Audiencia bay will remain an oasis of relaxation while daily aquaerobics, water volleyball, water polo and pool games will move to the new area located near the tennis courts.

“We are very excited to move forward with our renovation plans to make the Tesoro properties even better for our guests,” said Luis H. Garcia, president of Tesoro Resorts. “The idea is to improve upon the existing hotels and enhance the best features of each property, in the case of Los Cabos, the dynamic social scene and central location.”

The 170-room Tesoro Ixtapa is currently finalizing renovation plans to be announced later this year.
