HOLLAND & HART EXPANDS WASHINGTON, D.C. OFFICE

WASHINGTON, D.C. (April 17, 2006) - Holland & Hart is pleased to announce that Steve Barringer and Kelly Johnson have joined the firm's Washington, D.C. office. Both lawyers have substantial experience working with Congress and federal agencies on a variety of environmental and natural resources issues.

Mr. Barringer was a partner with Holland & Hart until 1996 and has rejoined the partnership in the Washington, D.C. office. For the past six years, he was the president of MGN, Inc., a government relations firm in Washington, D.C. He advises clients on a range of environmental compliance matters with an emphasis on solid and hazardous waste management and disposal, water quality, and federal and state “Right to Know” laws. Previously he served as Special Assistant to the Solicitor in the U.S. Department of the Interior where he handled legal issues relating to Nevada water use, the Hoover Dam and the Colorado River Compact.

Ms. Johnson is also a former Holland & Hart attorney. She has more than a decade of substantive legal experience concerning natural resource and environmental laws, programs and activities. Prior to rejoining Holland & Hart, she served as the Acting Assistant Attorney General in the U.S. Department of Justice’s Environment and Natural Resources Division, which enforces civil and criminal environmental laws and defends suits challenging federal environmental and natural resource laws. She served as the Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General, working with Tom Sansonetti, a former Assistant Attorney General at the Department of Justice and currently a Holland & Hart partner. Ms. Johnson previously was senior counsel to the U.S. Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources where she was responsible for natural resources, parks and public lands issues.

As a firm centered in the Rocky Mountain West, Holland & Hart's Washington, D.C. office is uniquely positioned to offer counsel on the full range of legislative issues and regulatory proceedings within the government.
