19th April 2006 Guildford, Surrey, United Kingdom - A new online classifieds site in the United Kingdom called SellBuy.com has been launched by mother of three Mrs Sally Lock, offering an easier and cheaper alternative for sellers over existing classified sites, auction sites and newspapers. Sellbuy.com provides buyers and sellers with over 130 categories of products and services from cars to houses, watches and holidays to plumbers and printers with a quick, simple and safe sign-up process for consumers to sell and buy goods and services online.

SellBuy.com is looking to become an easier alternative to classified and auction sites like eBay, QXL and Loot, by providing people with a much simpler selling and buying experience.

Sellbuy.com was conceived by Sally following her frustrations trying to easily sell unwanted items at online classified and auction websites. Sally explains - “Although the auction model of sites like eBay and QXL is very powerful I found the experience selling and buying frustrating and unnecessarily complicated. On the other hand local newspaper classifieds sections and their internet sites did not provide the range of products I needed.”

When customers want to sell something they simply register a few details on SellBuy.com and can then list as many items as they like. It only takes about two minutes to list an item on SellBuy.com. Each listing is promptly reviewed and approved individually to ensure the security of users and quality of the content.

Until July 2006 SellBuy.com is free for customers to sell all products and services. After that the rate to sell anything valued under £100 remains free, from £100-£1000 its just £2 per item and over £1000 is £5 per item. SellBuy.com adverts go onto the site for three months (or until the product is sold), which is much longer than a typical daily or weekly newspaper advert. Customers advertising services such as plumbers are charged £5 per annum to list their service.

Sally points out that in addition to the selling of common household items like toys, clothes and music that have out-grown a household, there is a large market for what she calls “re-gifting” – with 64% of people admitting to secretly selling or giving unwanted gifts to others every year!

SellBuy.com has a name that explains its function and is instantly memorable. As Sally says “Sellbuy.com is a free and simple site for selling and buying. I hope SellBuy.com will become a useful site for both individuals and small businesses to advertise, sell and buy products and services on.”
