MickleMuckle.co.uk Announces the Launch of its New Website that Contains AI Technology
April 21, 2006 (PRLEAP.COM) Technology NewsOxford, United Kingdom, Programmer and first time internet entrepreneur Richard Shaw from Oxford, England today launched www.micklemuckle.co.uk which is the home of a new Virtual Sales Assistant built using Artificial Intelligence A.I. chat bot technology.
The Virtual Sales Assistant was designed to help shoppers find what they are looking for, you can chat using sentences and keywords and the blue genie will answer and ask questions.
The system was designed for entertainment as well as to perform the function of a shopping assistant.
Computers that can hold a conversation have shown great appeal and point to the future of shopping on the internet.
"It has been very interesting coding the website and getting involved with advertisers, something I had not done before", says Richard Shaw founder of www.micklemuckle.co.uk.
The chat bot continues a long line of A.I systems, bringing A.I to the web.
The chat bot known as the Blue Genie is a descendent of Eliza invented by Dr Weizenbaum, the website and webserver themselves where also coded by site founder Richard Shaw, who goes on to say. "The webserver was written by myself from the ground up, I wanted a system to learn from and a system that I could easily add to and amend to implement ideas easily. Having written the webserver myself I also wrote the logging programs, to log site visitors, one of the most amazing things the logs showed, was just how many viruses and people tried to break into the website, from German University students to Chinese Internet users".
"Another interesting thing about the logs", Richard Shaw goes on to say was "how often google, yahoo! and other web search robots crawled the sites to add micklemuckle to there index".
The website which went live today, is available for users to chat with the A.I bot.
