2ndSite Renames Its Company

April 28, 2006 (PRLEAP.COM) Business News
Michael McDerment, co-founder and CEO of the Toronto-based online invoicing service, said 2ndSite has come a long way since its launch in 2004. Now with more than 50,000 people using the service, the company has grown and changed and the brand has not kept pace.

"We made a mistake with the name, we admit it," says McDerment. Although he would not reveal the new name, he did explain that reasons behind the change include: it is not an easy name to remember, can have a variation of spellings, does not reflect the company’s difference or service, and is different from the company’s url.

The name change will coincide with the service’s next upgrade. 2ndSite places great value on customer feedback, so this next release will include often-requested features such as automatically generating invoices to be sent by ground mail sent by the US postal service, a UK payment gateway called Velocity Pay, and lots of design changes. There will also be a new community forum to help users of the service share ideas, tips, make feature requests, and hear back from 2ndSite.

McDerment is excited about the upcoming changes. "Rebranding has given us the chance to align our visual identity with the company’s aim of providing a simple, fast and effective range of services that help people save time and get paid faster."
