PHOTOGRAPHER'S STOLEN IMAGE WINDS UP ON BURUNDIAN CURRENCY.

April 30, 2006 (PRLEAP.COM) Business News
Last February, while working on the small Thai island of Ko Chang, World Picture Network photographer, Kelly Fajack ( www.kellyfajack.com ) received an email from an American diplomat in the African country of Burundi. The diplomat informed Mr. Fajack that one
of his photographs is pictured on the Burundian 10,000
franc note. Prior to his move to Burundi the diplomat
had researched the country on the internet and had
come across an image on Fajack's website of Burundian
school boys that was taken in 2002 while Fajack was
working in Africa. When the diplomat arrived in
Bujumbura, Burundi and received the local currency he
immediately recognized the image and contacted Mr.
Fajack. Mr. Fajack was never contacted by the
Burundian Government and was completely unaware of the
usage even though the note had been in circulation for two years.
