In the New Year's Day recording session for the latest Micron Technology radio commercial, voiceover artist Scott G, who releases albums under the name The G-Man, completed his vocal takes for the sixty-second spot and then got right to work on creating the soundtrack.

The music was produced from the same type of electronics for which Micron is famous. "Micron is one of the world leaders in semiconductors, and they virtually define the term 'high-tech' to me," G-Man stated, "so I wanted the music for their commercial to be completely high-tech as well."

Every part of the soundtrack was electronic. "All aspects of the song, from drums and bass to the synthesizer sections, came from using the programming in sequencers," G stated. "Every sound was created in the digital realm."

Scott G is the founder of G-Man Music & Radical Radio, where he produces award-winning radio commercials and composes music for both radio and TV spots.

His songs have been called "Moby meets Bowie" (by producer Pete Anderson), "Moby meets Devo" (by TV producer Paul Rich), and "The rhythm of machines with melodies of the heart" (by music writer Janis Amy).

The G-Man's albums, GRIN GROOVE (2002), ELECTRO BOP (2003), and PLATINUM AGE OF THE REMIX (2004), have been hailed as sonic masterpieces by reviewers. His latest album, SONIC TONIC, will be released on March 1, 2005.

Mr. G is a member of NARAS (the Grammy organization), a creative director of the National Association of Record Industry Professionals (NARIP) and writes about music for many organizations, including MusicDish.com and the Immedia Wire Service.

The G-Man's albums are on iTunes, www.digipie.com, www.96decibels.com, many P2P sites, and at http://www.delvianrecords.com, and his commercials may be heard at http://www.gmanmusic.com.

Micron is one of the world's leading providers of advanced semiconductor solutions. Micron's DRAM and Flash components are used in today's most advanced computing, networking, and communications products, including computers, workstations, servers, cell phones, wireless devices, digital cameras, and gaming systems. Micron also provides CMOS image sensor solutions to the handset camera, digital still camera, and PC video camera markets.

"I was proud to do the voiceover for Micron, and it was an absolute joy to create the music track in the final hours of the recording session," said The G-Man. "I must admit, I love being able to push buttons and tweak knobs to create loops and beats for music composition," G added.
