FC Indiana signs four Mexico Women’s National Team players

GOSHEN, IN, — FC Indiana, the reigning US Open Cup and Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL) national champions, and currently ranked #4 in the world by www.WomensWorldFootball.com, announced the signing of four Mexico women’s national team players. Goalkeeper Pamela Tajonar, midfielders Fatima Leyva and Luz Soto, and forward Lupita Worbis will strengthen the FC Indiana squad for the 2006 season.

Leyva (27), has had a storied international career, having participated at the CONCACAF (1998), Nike Cup (1998, 2000), World Cup (1999), Pan American Games (1999, 2003), Athens Olympics (2004) and Copa de Oro (2000) tournaments. She has 15 goals in 56 games for Mexico. When the Mexican national team failed to qualify for the 2003 women's World Cup, she was hired by Telemundo as a color commentator for their World Cup broadcasts.

Tajonar (21), Worbis (22) and Soto (22) have been part of the national team for the last 4 years.
