ImprovJacksonville Hosts Open Auditions

Jacksonville, FL - ImprovJacksonville Comedy Theatre (IJ) is looking for a few new troupe members. Open auditions will be held on Saturday, June 3rd at 3pm at the theatre located in the Jacksonville Landing. The audition will include warm-up games and improvised scenes.

What you will need for the audition:
• Comfortable clothes to move in,
• An open-mind,
• The ability to have fun,
• Headshots and a resume (if available, but not mandatory).

What you won’t need for the audition:
• Improv or theatre experience,
• Jokes or stand-up routine,
• Monologue, and
• Money.

Troupe Director John Kalinowski will run the auditions. He will contact potential players after the auditions to join IJ’s bi-weekly Bedlamites workshop. There the future players will hone their improvisational skills and perform on a weekly basis during IJ’s student show on Wednesday nights from 8 – 9:30 p.m.

IJ performs six, regular weekly shows at their 100-seat comedy theatre in The Jacksonville Landing. The shows are fast paced, fun and interactive, and are built entirely around audience suggestions. IJ also offers private entertainment, public workshops, comedy traffic school, corporate workshops and special events.
