New Revenue Streams from the Xerox iGen3

January 15, 2005 (PRLEAP.COM) Business News
Since its introduction to the market, the Xerox iGen3 have been helping production printing customers and clients create per month thousands of full-color books, personalized marketing brochures, posters and other applications. Benefits from the product include more revenue, expansion and variation of job offerings, and new jobs for the printing providers.

Now, aside from its promise of delivering high color-image quality and greater print volume, the iGen3 has a 24/7 support center that can boost product performance, as well as new feeding and finishing improvements to support it.

Center for Customer Support…

As part of its drive to expand customer assistance, Xerox has created a 24/7, state-of-the-art command center with the important function of processing real-time, in-depth information on virtually every installed iGen3 press across North America. The center is equipped with a technical hotline that receives data from numerous sources, including those that come from the digital presses themselves, sales and service representatives, field analysts, and customers.

The command center will examine press performance at each customer location, solve emerging problems, and basically provide support for preventive maintenance.

New optional feeder modules…

Two new optional feeder modules have been made to extend the iGen3's paper capacity with a total of 12 trays, or 30,000 sheets of 80 lb. coated text paper. This allows the users to run complex jobs with different paper stocks in a more efficient manner.

Latest addition to the finishing…

The iGen3 has the new Crease and Bleed Trim Module for the SquareFold Booklet Maker. With automatic creasing functions, it produces a sharper, cleaner fold. It also adds side trimming for full bleed color booklets.

New roll-feed system…

A new DocuSheeter iG roll-feed system can feed up to 50,000 sheets of paper per roll for continuous printing. It is connected to a feeder module and can be switched between roll and cut-sheet paper, depending on job requirements. The system allows for multiple shifts of continuous operation, reducing the need for operator attention and increasing productivity and cost savings.
Not only is iGen3 providing its promise, one customer swears by it when it comes to variable data printing. By adding new capabilities, it is hoped that the iGen3 will help users realize the full potential of this breakthrough digital technology.
