LANHAM, MD: The Prince George’s Council of Big Brothers Big Sisters National Capital Area will hold their annual carnival on Sunday, May 28th from Noon until 4:00 PM in Bowie’s Allen Pond Park. This annual event highlights Prince George residents’ volunteer mentoring of youth from single-parent households throughout the county.

This year’s carnival will play host to WKYS 93.9 FM radio station and Miss Teen Maryland. Games, food, beverages, candy and prizes have been generously provided through event sponsors including Comcast, Saturn of Bowie and Kohl’s as well as the donation of area businesses such as Best Buy, Safeway, Longhorn Steakhouse, Target, and Modell’s.

“We look forward to hosting this year’s annual carnival to recognize the contributions of the volunteers throughout our community. We also want to sign up additional adults to serve as mentors to youth who await a Big Brother or Big Sister, so come on out to the carnival to have a good time and learn more about the opportunity to serve your community.” said James Culbertson, Prince George’s County Council Chair.

Allen Pond Park is located at 3330 Northview Drive in Bowie, MD and is off of Route 197 and South of Route 50 directly behind the Bowie Town Center.
