Author Faiz Kermani recently dropped in to see schoolchildren at Homefield Preparatory School(www.homefield.sutton.sch.uk) to talk about his children’s fiction book, "My Alien Penfriend” (www.myalienpenfriend.co.uk).

Suitable for the 8 to 12 year old age group, My Alien Penfriend examines the relationship between an eleven year old boy (Darius) and Zmod, an alien from the distant planet of Bartoch which began when Darius joined the Inter-galactic space Club. Over time, the two children communicate across the galaxy and form a friendship in their quest to learn more about each other’s planets.

Children from the Upper Fourth Class had an opportunity to hear extracts from the book and ask Faiz about the background to the book. He ended the visit with a book signing.

“School visits are a lot of fun and I really enjoyed speaking to the children at Homefield Preparatory School,” commented Faiz. “It was good to hear that a lot of the children enjoy writing and many of them already have ambitions to be authors”.

“The visit from Faiz Kermani was a huge success,” commented Kay Merryman, lRC Manager. “The boys have been encouraged with their creative writing and reading.”

Pupil Omar Saffar said “My Alien Penfriend, with all the charms of a different world will sweep you off your feet into a new universe where anything can happen, from moving rocks to red skies. My verdict: far beyond the stars!”
