Following the inclusion of his track Justice 4 Jean on the Peace Not War 2006 London Mix cd, interest in young Luton rapper Hemy has blossomed. With almost 4500 plays on myspace (www.myspace.com/staronline) in a very short time and radio play on stations as far away as New Zealand and South America, as well as all over the UK, huge demand and breathtaking feedback has led to the track being made available for MP3 download. The single and accompanying video are on target for release in July, in time for the anniversary of the death of Jean-Charles.

With influences ranging from Sam Cook and KRS-1 to Mos Def and Phi-Life Cypher, Hemy’s rhythmic wordplay and insightful lyrics give tribute to this innocent man, and show an understanding and awareness of the uneasy atmosphere in London last summer, when any coloured person was automatically a terrorist suspect.

All proceeds from the single will go to promoting the Justice 4 Jean cause.
