TRATON HOMES CELEBRATES 35 YEARS

As Traton Homes marks its 35th anniversary this spring, the hometown builder celebrates the construction of more than 5,000 homes in 50 communities, each one offering Atlanta-area buyers “Altogether More” while meeting high quality standards and offering a sound investment.
Renee Slaughter, a real estate agent with Re/MAX Unlimited and a Traton homeowner, sums up the appeal of Traton-built homes. “They offer a lot of square footage and nice features for the money,” she says. “I’ve also seen home values go up while their neighborhoods were still being built.” Slaughter adds that she has fewer inspection issues when dealing with Traton homes, even in resale transactions.
Moving at a sound and steady pace, the company started by brothers Bill and Milburn Poston has grown to be the 17th largest homebuilder on the Atlanta Business Chronicle’s top 25 Home Builder’s list for 2005. They expect to sell more than 400 homes during 2006 and are currently building in a total of 10 single-family and townhome communities in Cobb, Cherokee, Douglas, Paulding and South Fulton counties. Traton’s homes are priced from the low $200,000s to over $800,000.
The expanded product line and significant number of annual sales is a far cry from the early days of Traton, when the Poston brothers built just five homes in their first year. They quickly grew from building homes into developing communities, trying to meet the needs of Cobb County when it was one of the state’s fastest growing counties. As the company’s popularity grew, more professionals asked to join them in building homes “the Traton way.” Soon, they not only were building more homes, but they also had built an entire company devoted to giving buyers even more than they expect.
Today, Traton develops about half of the lots they build on and purchases the others. The company is in the process of constructing a new corporate headquarters in Marietta, where they employ 80 building professionals. The beautiful Craftsman-style office will stand next door to a new Design Center as well.
“We build each Traton home today on a legacy of sound construction, superior service and outstanding value,” said Clif Poston, Traton’s Executive Vice President and son of founder William C. Poston. “While we continue to grow and improve, that legacy is one thing that will not change. It’s a promise we will still be keeping when our company meets the century mark.”
Traton’s legacy also includes award-winning professionalism and innovation. As a Certified Professional Homebuilder, Traton has demonstrated its commitment to conducting business according to a set of high-level standards and to continuing to train and augment their industry knowledge. Their innovative marketing approach has been recognized with Professionalism Awards from the Greater Atlanta Home Builder Association’s Sales and Marketing Council. One of their award-winning programs, Red Carpet for Relos, allows real estate agents to offer their relocation clients limousine service to Traton communities.
Traton Corporation has also established a legacy of reaching beyond their neighborhoods to give back to the larger community. Traton is particularly involved with causes that relate to children and education. A favorite project is the Cobb Christmas program. In 2005, Traton employees and partners collected almost $20,000 in toys and cash for the cause.
“There is a lot to be said for the way my father and uncle established Traton Corporation and laid out our values,” said Poston. “The solid foundation they set will allow us to continue in our growth and service to Atlanta area families for decades to come.”
Celebrating 35 years in business, Traton Homes has built a solid reputation by giving Atlanta area homebuyers exactly what they expect – Altogether More. Traton Homes offers more experience, more impressive architecture, more outstanding features and more rewarding lifestyles in more desirable locations on homes ranging from the $200,000s to the $800,000s. Each of the almost 5,000 homes they have built in more than 50 communities demonstrates their strict attention to quality and detail. Traton Homes is currently building in ten outstanding communities in Cobb, Cherokee, Douglas, Paulding and South Fulton.
