May 25, 2006 (PRLEAP.COM) Business News
In April of 2000 Max Halterman and his family started their website business selling clothing, furniture and handicrafts from Vietnam, India and Bali. In 2003 they unveiled their first online catalog featuring silk and Lacquer Lamps and featuring a number of handmade Blouses, Dresses, Handbags and Men’s shirts just to mention a few items sold on their site then hand made from around the world

May 8 of 2004 the omgallery completely remodeled their site and reopened with a design the continues today and the Om Gallery takes pride in knowing that they have developed partnerships around the work especially in China and Vietnam where the exploitation of the worker is the norm.

“We promote fair trade and condemn demonic working conditions and enjoy
helping Cooperative Cottage Industries in developing countries. Every
article of Om Gallery merchandise is handmade by one of our many families of tailors, cobblers, lantern makers and lamp makers. Max Halterman President of the Om Gallery said.

“Being fair is the cornerstone of their business”, Halterman when on to say “our working partners are an extension of our family, we visit them often and share meals, laughs and good times with our extended families. One of our greatest moments was in 2002 when three of our partner families built new homes and workshops to employ more villagers. With morale so high we are satisfied knowing that everything we make is handmade with care at a fair price.”

Halterman explained his pricing methods “ with an agreed price that is
profitable to our partners, our friends name a cost for our design and then the entire family and their partners go to work. This not only insures fairness but also insures the best in quality for the products we pass on to our customers. It is a WIN WIN for all and our survival depends on each other, therefore making us closer and trusting.”

The OM Gallery is of course open 24/7/365 at http://www.omgallery.com. Max Halterman invites all to explore the site to see the many fine products “FAIR” trade can produce.
