Following the opening of The National Stationery Show at the Jacob Javitz Center, The greeting card and stationery industry gathered on a brisk May evening at Manhattan's Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers for the 18th Annual International Greeting Card Awards — the LOUIE competition, sponsored by the Greeting Card Association.

The Pet Set, a first time entrant to the GCA awards, was selected as the Judges' Choice for its "Graduation Card": Model Citizen". A hand illustrated design celebrating a graduation from puppy obedience school.

"We've made a little dent in the enormous universe that is the greeting card and stationery industry", says Kim Banks, creator and owner of The Pet Set.

The Pet Set was selected from among 1100 entrants, continuing in a GCA tradition of celebrating dogs and their humans through a greeting card sentiment.

The Pet Set is a line of high-end stationery for dogs and the humans who correspond for them, with categories ranging from dog birthday's to party invitations to puppy announcements.

The hallmark of The Pet Set line is its breed-specific note cards that capture the expressions and characteristics of many breeds.

The Pet Set was also a finalist for their charming Father's Day card: "Father Nose Best."

The Pet Set is based in Emerson, New Jersey — owned and operated by Kim Banks.
