Cary Events Facility To Participate In Communities In Schools Event

CARY, N.C. – Sheila Hale Ogle, owner of the Matthews House, has announced that the events facility is a sponsor of the 2006 North Carolina Education Ball, a signature event that benefits Communities in Schools of North Carolina (CIS). CIS is the nation’s leading community-based organization helping students stay in school and prepare for life. The event titled Under the Silver Moon will include live and silent auctions, exclusive entertainment and award presentations, and will be held on June 3 at the Progress Energy Center for the Performing Arts at 6:30 p.m.

“I am excited to be a sponsor for the North Carolina Education Ball,” said Ogle. “Communities in Schools is an excellent organization and I am pleased to support such a great cause.”

About Communities in Schools (CIS) of the Rocky Mount Region, Inc.:
Communities in Schools (CIS) of the Rocky Mount Region, Inc. was established in 1987 with the goal to connect community resources with schools to help young people successfully learn, stay in school and prepare for life. Currently the program includes services at four middle schools, three high schools and two family resource centers throughout the region. School-site services include academic instruction and remediation, agency involvement and an active tutor/mentor program provided by the business community. CIS established the Scholarship Endowment Fund in order to award a need-based scholarship to graduating College Access Program students, where upon enrollment in the seventh grade, each student is promised a last-dollar scholarship from CIS upon successful completion of high school and enrollment in higher education.
