The Lunch Club launches “unlimited buffet” event membership program for New Yorkers

(May 30, NY, NY) TheLunchClub.com, a successful social and community web-based network, that zoomed to over 10,200 members in the last 4 years, has just launched its unlimited event membership program.

The purpose of the free online Clubhouse site is to provide a user-friendly way for members to continue the relationships they begin at club gatherings. The new event membership program offers repeat event guests the opportunity of access to unlimited events. Currently, the base admission cost for most events is $10. But Monthly Members pay only $20 a month for unlimited monthly event attendance.

"Since we have launched the site,” Lunch Club founder Jared Nissim reports, “over 20,000 messages have been exchanged between members. We also have quite an active message board. The site is buzzing like a bee-hive.”

The Lunch Club itself is a phenomenon that is changing the way busy folks relate. “After four years of events, it seems this has grown into a small-scale phenomenon,” Nissim observes. “Three or more times a week we have these gatherings that draw between 20 to 40 ‘strangers’ in their twenties, thirties and forties who share a meal with each other. They meet for the sole purpose of connecting with new friends and the community. Thousands of people have connected with 400 new ones signing on each month.” Lunch, Sunday brunch and dinner meetings, as well as sports activities, game nights, holiday gatherings and many more are all part of the Club’s growing roster of scheduled events. Nissim has also created a, now nationally popular, home grown event called speedfriending.com, a successful way to make 20 new friends in two hours. “People find it all a comfortable venue to connect with others in a non-threatening, easy-going manner,” says Nissim.

To meet the growing national/international response, branches of The Lunch Club have been started in other American cities including Boston, Mass and Washington, DC. and in South Africa, London and other European cities. The Club has been featured in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Guardian, American television news stories and international wires.

How did it all begin? Nissim answers, “Working from home can be a double-edged sword. On one hand you are free to make your own hours, but on the other hand you are isolated from human contact. I simply wanted to meet some people I could socialize with during the day."

As a major side benefit to the local economy, The Lunch Club has also generated hundreds of thousands of dollars in local restaurant business. Nissim says he has accomplished what he set out to do and more. He no longer has to eat alone, and, now, neither do a lot of others.

The Lunch Club virtual clubhouse is free. Membership fees are for event attendance. Log on www.TheLunchClub.com to find out more information or how to join.
