An Australian (Adelaide) company, Dragon Crest International (DCI) has announced the release of Podsage, a podcast player and search engine, featuring one of the largest and fully integrated, desktop podcast databases in the world.

Podcasts are essentially pre-recorded audio and video shows designed specifically for access over the Internet. They allow audiences to listen or watch a diverse range of programs covering an almost endless list of topics such as current affairs, sports, music, education and politics.

According to David Jorrell, of Dragon Crest International, “Podcasts are a phenomenon that continues to take the world by storm … We developed Podsage to fulfil a need by the general public to very quickly find podcast programs (shows) that meet their specific interests. Podsage provides this through its fully searchable and expanding database of over 57,000 podcast links. Within seconds, just about anyone with a good internet connection can be listening to their favourite music, comedy, and radio or travelling to exotic destinations. All this is possible through Podsage’s in built podcast player…”

What makes Podsage different from existing products available?

“… We consulted with Podcasters (podcast producers) throughout the world. Major emphasis was given to ensuring a visually pleasing and intuitive interface without loss in richness of features. One such feature are the ‘Show Notes’ that accompany each podcast episode (the actual show that is listened to or viewed.) These are presented as the Podcaster originally intended – many other players, even the more popular ones tend to disregard this. Now, for example, educationalists can provide direct links to supporting documents.

Podcasts are provided by individual and corporate Podcasters throughout the World for free access. Podsage is also free, and we will continue to develop it to help grow the delivery of even more informative and entertaining podcasts to listeners and viewers, worldwide.”

Podsage can be downloaded for free at www.podsage.com.
