A Congress of independent scientologists is being planned for April/May this year in Sydney Australia. Including a well know highly trained lecturer from the US and a special briefing from a highly trained technical person, the congress promises to revitalize the independent movement of scientologists '˜downunder' with extensive training and counselling for attendees as well as some exciting news about the philosophy developed by Lafayette Ron Hubbard. The congress, which will go for about a month, is sponsored by three non-profit associations around the world to promote the independent and often called protestant scientologists. They believe that since the death of the founder of the movement, the Church of Scientology™ has strayed from the original philosophy and purpose of the group.

"As they do not wish to participate in the practice of an altered philosophy they have elected to practice their chosen philosophy independently of the 'official' organisation or church" said Michael president of the International Freezone Association, one of the groups sponsoring the Congress. He went on, "This will be the first proper Congress on the philosophy of Ron Hubbard since he was here in Australian over 30 years ago.'. Two other groups sponsoring the Congress are the ICAUSE group and the Freezone Association of New Zealand & Australia.
