SpivO Announces Local Movie Times Plus Local Restaurant and Dining Guide

June 03, 2006 (PRLEAP.COM) Business News
Tampa, Florida June 3, 2006. SpivO has been working on modifications and upgrades to attract a more domestic (United States) audience. The two newest features reflect a bigger picture for the search engine; localization and targeted directories. SpivO Dining is a database of over a quarter of million restaurants around the United State. SpivO pulls over eighty thousand reviews and links from the Mozilla Dining database.

The approach is similar to the actions of the SpivO Directory. SpivO pulled from the Open Directory Project’s 5.2 Million entries from 2004 to mid 2005 while they built their own independent directory. While SpivO does not have plans of building an internally managed dining guide, they will be announcing the SpivO Wine Directory in June.

SpivO Movie Times is a simple tool for a night at the movies. SpivO’s development team lead by Adviatech Corporation’s Vice President, Jason Bland, has given SpivO Movie Times a “simple” feel.

“We chose a simple look because we feel that is what consumers want. All the leading movie time web sites and resources have movie trailers, layer advertisements, and a lot of distractions.” Jason Bland continued to say, “Our movie times has a news feed, a box for users to type in their postal code to get local results, and our contextual advertising. It’s easy to use and fast.”

While SpivO Movie Times proudly expresses simplicity and minimal commercialization, the Movie Times channel is a revenue producing venture. It host relevant ads from SpivO’s Contextual Advertising System and allows user’s to buy movie tickets through a partnership with Fandango.

Overall, the two channels (SpivO Movie Times and SpivO Dining) have reflected a traffic increase for Spivo.com by nearly 15% in their first week showing that SpivO can be become the best place to start your dinner and a movie night.
