Croton Falls, New York - The Schoolhouse Theater has another crowd pleaser on it’s hands with the upcoming run of Alfred Uhrys’ The Last Night of Ballyhoo. The play which opens Friday June 9th and runs through Sunday June 25th brings the theater’s 2005-2006 season to a close on a high note. Located at 3 Owens Road in the tiny hamlet of Croton Falls in northern Westchester County, The Schoolhouse Theater has been named “Westchesters’ sole claim to consistent, professional theater” by The New York Times. A jewel box of a theater, the Schoolhouse offers every audience member an intimate theatrical experience.

The Last Night of Ballyhoo is a brilliant romantic comedy by Alfred Uhry, the acclaimed author of Driving Miss Daisy and Mystic Pizza. This Tony Award-winning play deftly explores the lives of Jewish southerners in 1939; the year that Hitler invades Poland and Gone With The Wind is having it’s premiere. The Levy/Freitag families are torn apart and mended together as they are forced to face who they really are and where they came from. “The author’s brilliant characters speak to us from their hearts and charm us with their humor. This play is timeless in it’s themes of belonging and exceptance”, states director Pamela Moller Kareman.

Lee Pope, producer of the Schoolhouse Theater has said, “Ticket sales have been very strong and we anticipate sold out evenings, so call - soon!” Chances to see this professionally staged gem are limited to Thursday through Saturday nights at 8 p.m. and Sunday afternoons at 4 p.m. from June 9-25, 2006.
