BlameShift Releases Eagerly-Anticipated New Single, Prepares for Summer Tour

Syosset, NY June 4th, 2006 – Following the critical and commercial success of their 2005 full-length CD Drop Down, Long Island-based hard rock Blameshift has released a new single, “Dead and Breathing.” The self-produced, self-recorded, uptempo rocker showcases the band’s continuing evolution as songwriters while retaining the elements that made Drop Down a hit: harmonious male and female lead vocals supplied by Jenny Mann and Tim Barbour, the aggressive guitar work of Danny Leto and Barbour, and the tighter-than-tight rhythm section of Joe Meyer on bass and James Miller on percussion.

The lyrics for “Dead and Breathing” reflect the current trend of doctors “treating” many of their patients with medication excessively, creating a society hooked on antidepressants, Ritalin, sleeping pills, and a plethora of other mood-altering chemicals. Many physicians make it seem as though a magic pill can solve all of a person’s problems, and never speak of the negative aspects of these miracle treatments. We are all becoming “Dead and Breathing” – technically alive, but emotionally dead.

Coinciding with the release of “Dead and Breathing” is the announcement of Blameshift’s Summer 2006 tour, which will begin on June 15th. Already veterans of successful tours in Summer 2005 and Winter 2006, Blameshift’s current tour will take them through Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, Missouri, Tennessee, Louisiana, Mississippi, Florida, North Carolina, and Washington, D.C. This tour finds the band returning to several venues that they played at on previous tours, as well as bringing their high-energy performances to new points on the map. The tour will be capped off by a performance on the Warped Tour in Pittsburgh, PA on July 27th. When they return to New York, the band plans to take some time to write and record their second full-length album.
