Americans Enjoying Savings on Costly Dental Care

United States residents are finding they can now afford dental work with access to dentists who offer discounted rates on their services. According to a recent dental fee survey conducted by Dental Economics, a standard dental check-up can cost up to $270 without insurance. Using discount cards they have obtained through a company that is highly-rated by the BBB, members pay $72 for these same services, a savings of 73% (costs vary across the country but all discounts are similar).

All procedures are discounted from 20% to 80%, making good dental care affordable to millions of Americans who otherwise could not obtain the care they need without having adequate insurance coverage. Even braces are discounted by about 50%, making a big difference in family finances.

What makes this discount plan even more interesting to consumers is that the monthly fee of $11.95 for individuals or $19.95 for an entire household includes discounts on prescription medications, vision care, and chiropractic care. At a time when more and more employers are cutting benefits, this plan boasts savings of millions of dollars to consumers with their nationwide package.

Since the plan is not insurance but rather a discounted fee-for-service plan, members agree to pay the published fee directly to the provider at the time of service or according to their payment agreement. Most large pharmacy chains accept the cards, as well as many independent pharmacies, making plan benefits easy to use.

Additional benefits for vision care include exams, glasses, contact, and surgical procedures, including cosmetic procedures such as Lasik. Chiropractic benefits include a free initial consultation with 30% to 50% savings on follow-up care.

Representative Sandy Rasmussen needed some expensive dental work but had only preventative dental coverage through her self-pay health insurance plan. "I began looking around for some sort of discount plan because I knew there had to be a better way. Our discounts really do help people get the care they need at a price they can afford.
