The Auckland Hare Krishna has decided to approach Krishna devotees and well wishers in New Zealand and across the world in order to raise NZD 1 million dollars in the next two months to make the new Radha Giridhari Temple, Auckland, mortgage - free.

The gift of $1 million will be offered to Sri Sri Radha Giridhari on Janmastami i.e. Lord Krishna’s birthday on 16th August 2006.

The temple has launched a website for fund raising, www.iskconnz.com/1million for people in New Zealand and across the world to participate.

Renowned Ukrainian artist Dina Bandhu Das will be painting the picture on a wall measuring 4.17 metres x 2.82 metres in the temple’s main worship hall. Devotees are requested to sponsor this painting towards the fund-raising. This is the ONLY 1 million-dollar painting in the world and the temple expects 10,000 of Lord Krishna’s devotees globally to donate jus NZD 100.00 each to make a total of one million dollars and achieve the temple’s Mortgage-free goal.

Work on the painting will start as soon as a donation total of $100,000 is collected. The progress of the painting will be posted on the temple website http://www.iskconnz.com/1million/progress.htm on a regular basis.

The temple is requesting Lord Krishna’s devotees globally to participate in this once in a lifetime event, fundraising for the "1 million dollar Krishna painting", and to receive the unlimited mercy of the Supreme Lord Krishna and His eternal associates.
