Rochester, New York, June 9, 2006 – The Internet has become such a voluminous resource for bargain hunters, that finding the best deal by standard searching is almost impossible. The launching of www.MarkdownMonkey.com will help Internet bargain hunters find the best deals every day and help them wade through the tricky world of discount codes and rebate forms.

Markdown Monkey was created by Matt Grieshaber, a veteran IT consultant and self proclaimed cheap person. “It’s not that I don’t like to spend money. I Love to buy stuff, especially computers and gadgets. I just don’t like to spend more money than I have to.” Matt has been shopping on the Internet for years, and has naturally been drawn to bargain hunting websites. These sites are dedicated to posting discounts or sales from other web retailers. When Matt researched the ‘deals’ posted on these sites, he started to get frustrated. “A simple search on Froogle, Pricegrabber or NextTag would find other well-respected retailers whose regular price was lower than the ‘sale’ price listed on the bargain site.”

That’s when Matt decided to do something about it; he started Markdown Monkey. His goal: only post “real” bargains. Instead of posting a landslide of discounted items everyday, the site typically posts two to three new deals a day. Each item listed represents what Matt considers to be a great deal. “A great deal, is when it’s the lowest price available anywhere, and it is being sold by a retailer that has a good reputation for delivery and customer service.”

That doesn’t mean he only researches a few deals a day. “Once retailers knew who I was, they started sending me lists of their current sale items. I get hundreds of listings delivered to my inbox every day.” Some retailers have even started to send Matt their competitors pricing on the same products to show they are offering the lowest price. Matt appreciates their help, but still does his own research before posting anything.

Visit Markdown Monkey and then see if you can do better anywhere else. If you can, email Matt and tell him, he’ll want to post the deal you found. Chances are, however, the deal you find on Markdown Monkey will be the best deal out there.
