South Pasadena, CA —June 13, 2006 —FilmmakingCentral.com, home of the Filmmaking Central Podcast is officially launching its new site today! Lucky members who register for free will be entered into a drawing for prizes such as Final Draft screenwriting software and Adobe After Effects plug ins.

The Filmmaking Central Podcast is hosted by independent filmmaker David Basulto. The show is top rated on all the directories and is currently number 74 on podcastalley.com out of more than 20,000 shows. The show has listeners all over the world.

The shows host, David Basulto or “Dave”, has been an independent filmmaker for over 15 years. “Dave” has acted along side Jon Voight, Keenan Ivory Wayons, Steven Seagal and Edward Norton. As a producer, he has worked with Lifetime Television, Icon Entertainment (Mel Gibson’s company), HBO, and Cinemax. He recently sold his feature horror film, “Death Clique”, to Maverick Entertainment. “Death Clique” was Dave’s directorial debut and was self financed.

“I just love the whole process of filmmaking!” Dave says. “I have a lot of experience, some good and some bad. I like to pass on that “wisdom”, if you may, to my listeners. Hopefully they can learn from my mistakes and achievements.”

Filmmaking Central Podcast was one of the first podcasts on filmmaking and has had a solid audience since then. For those in the dark about a podcast it’s a show prerecorded that can be played on a computer, streamed from the website itself, or downloaded to portable media players like Apple’s iPod or Sony’s PSP.

The Filmmaking Central Podcast has interviews with top industry players like Academy Award nominated screenwriter Stephen J Rivele, Casting guru Valerie McCaffrey, and award winning actor Jon Polito. The show also reviews new products that listeners can use in their filmmaking process. Sponsoring the show are industry heavies Final Draft, Red Giant Software, Maxon Cinema 4D, and FrameForge 3D Studio.

The new site will soon include a video pitch nite where members can pitch their projects, screenplays and more via Skype to Dave and industry guests. “I like to educate our members who are interested in how films get made, this is after all a business” Dave said.

The show and the site are completely free. Members can download the show from the site by subscribing to it on iTunes.

The site has a very active forum as well. Members really try to help each other out. Along with many topics on filmmaking, Dave has monthly giveaways. “I try to help new filmmakers out whenever I can, its just good karma!” says Basulto.
