Ace’s High Rollers Place Their Money on Ace
Ace Young was a contestant on American Idol, season 5. What would cause members of his fan club to collect over $7,777 in his name to donate to Denver Children's Hospital? The High Rollers say they’ve been inspired by Ace’s music as well as his generous spirit and have made it their goal to introduce the world to the music of Ace Young.

Ace’s musical talent was recognized early on, but the High Rollers also discovered Ace is a humanitarian. After Ace’s older brother Ryan was seriously injured in a car accident, breaking his back in 7 places, Ace, Ryan, and another brother, Marc, started donating their time each Christmas Day to the Denver Children’s Hospital, going from room to room to visit and sing to the sick children. Ace’s fans were so inspired by his dedication to children that they started a collection, which grew rapidly. In May, Ace and his family visited the Children’s Hospital in Denver to dedicate the money, which will be put towards a Family Center. Ace spent over five hours at the hospital, visiting and performing for the children. This story was featured on American Idol Extra Insider.

Ace has truly been an inspiration to his fans, and they have traveled far and wide to see him. A Homecoming Party for Ace at the Spy Bar in Denver, CO, hosted by Alice 105.9, attracted many fans from as far away as NJ, NY, Alaska, and even Vancouver, Canada.

Anne-Marie, from Vancouver, states," I have never done anything like this before in my life. To feel moved to travel to see and perhaps meet a musical artist in person is very unlike me. However, Ace's gift of music is incredibly rare.” Ace performed two standards from his American Idol days– “Butterflies” and “Father Figure.” He also performed “So Fly” with Tha’ Villain, but the biggest treat of the night came with Ace’s performance of an original song he co-wrote with Elvio Fernandes called “Scattered.” The following Friday, Ace traveled to Rochester, NY, to perform with Elvio and his group, Uncle Plum, at the Tikki Lounge. Once again, a number of his fans traveled to Rochester to see him perform.

Recently, the American Idol 5 Encore CD has been released, and Ace’s track “ Father Figure” is considered by many fans and non-fans to be among the best, yet the song is not being released to the radio stations. Ace’s dedicated fans have therefore launched a grassroots nationwide campaign to get “Father Figure” released as a single and sent to radio stations to be played on the air.
