Vaughan Waller joins Learning Light

June 15, 2006 (PRLEAP.COM) Business News
Learning Light (LL), a non-profit organisation, seeking to establish itself as a Centre of Excellence in the use of learning technologies in the workplace, has appointed Vaughan Waller as its Head of Membership Services.

For several years, Waller has been running the Technologies for Business and Learning (TBL) e-learning consultancy. For the last seven years he has also been the elected chairman of the eLearning Network (eLN), the UK’s foremost professional assocaition for users and developers of e-learning.

LL will be partnering with leading thinkers in the industry, as well as with academics who are interested in this field, to create a unique and constantly growing learning technologies knowledgebase.

Waller will be responsible for providing access by LL Members - comprising both users and suppliers of e-learning - to this knowledgebase in order to share information, knowledge, insight, experience and expertise. This will be achieved through networking events, conferences and seminars often using online community tools.

“Among the first priorities of the job will be to organise and promote LL’s ‘offerings’ to its potential members – following our extensive research into what is both wanted and needed,” explained Mark Pittaway, CEO of LL.

“Vaughan Waller has built an enviable reputation within the e-learning world as a knowledgeable and well connected consultant,” Pittaway continued. “He is nationally known - and respected, too - for his invaluable work in promoting best practice within the industry through the eLN and its regular conferences.”

Waller commented: “As the use of technology to deliver learning cements its place within ‘mainstream’ learning delivery, there is an increasing need to introduce e-learning’s users and potential users to best practice. The objective is that LL will be seen as the authoritative source of best practice information and, through its various activities, as the organisation at the very centre of the e-learning world both in the UK and internationally.”
