Texas Electricians Face New Continuing Education Requirements, RedVector.com Approved to Offer Required Online Training

January 28, 2005 (PRLEAP.COM) Business News
Last year, House Bill 1487 required Texas electricians to become licensed. More than 80,000 electrical contractors and related professionals rushed to comply with the law. This year, thousands of these electricians must, for the first time, take courses to renew their licenses.

Industry response to the licensing requirement exceeded projections set by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR), which expected 60,000 to 80,000 electricians, would apply for a state license. TDLR reported that 84,974 licenses have been issued as of January 11, 2005.

“Because the licensing program is new, many Texas electricians may not realize that they must meet renewal requirements this year,” said Victoria Zambito, Vice President of Research and Development for RedVector.com, Inc. “For many busy electricians, meeting these requirements online through RedVector.com could save time and money.”

The Texas law states: “Each licensee must complete 4 hours of continuing education annually and prior to their renewal date.” RedVector.com has been approved by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (Provider Registration #1041) to train electricians.

Courses offered by RedVector.com and approved for Texas electricians include:

2005 NEC: Special Conditions & Communication Systems (2 hours)
