Tradepoint.ca Launches UltimateRockStar.com

TORONTO, ON — Cars, furniture, real estate and jobs are just the start; now Tradepoint.ca is connecting Generation Y buyers and sellers.

The GenY market is an important market for online classifieds. The challenge all marketers are finding is how to connect with and gain the attention of the highly fragmented youth market. What online classified provider Tradepoint.ca has found is that it’s important to Intersect with the youth market where they’re already hanging out and find ways to support those activities – we call it ‘Their Space Marketing’ ” says Bo Pelech CEO. Tradepoint.ca has already sponsored an “Indie” (independent unsigned bands) studio recording session and CD for the band “The Ryde” at the world renowned MetalWorks Studio and are now sponsoring www.UltimateRockStar.com, where the winning Canadian band will be awarded the same studio recording session to create their own Indie CD. It’s free for bands to enter, with winners being selected by a combination of popular voting and a panel of judges. Bo Pelech added, “Putting up banners and hoping for impressions and click-thru’s just doesn’t cut it in this marketplace, you have to help people do cool things that interest them and hang out where they hang out. Thankfully, we have a GenY skewed staff that has a lot of fun doing just that.”

This has led to a number of interesting initiatives including connecting with thousands of friends within www.MySpace.com/UltimateRockStarSearch, phone based voting for bands, weekly Podcasts of select bands on Yahoo and other Podcast sites, and Widget downloads for desktop news, photo, and song updates from the UltimateRockStar.com contest
